Food & Trees for Africa is a Section 21 social enterprise registered with the Department of Welfare
and the Public Benefits Department. It was established in 1990.
objectives of FTFA are: to contribute to greening, sustainable natural resource management and
food security;
-to create an awareness of the benefits of environmental upliftment activities amongst all communities
of southern Africa;
-to contribute to poverty alleviation, improved environments, capacity building and skills development,
increasingly for PWAs
FTFA’s work continues to embrace best practices in sustainable environmental activities that empower
poor communities while also playing an important role in reducing the carbon emissions that are
threatening our planet.
Sustainable development is about people and popular participation, about broad consensus and common
purpose, about the willingness of the all agents of change to take full responsibility for the
environment in the areas they live, and this is what FTFA is working towards.
