Description
Springfield Plantation Guest House is a part of the Springfield Centre for Environmental Protection,
Research & Education (SCEPTRE). Workshops and training sessions have been undertaken at
and/or by Springfield in forestry; agro-forestry; organic farming; eco-tourism; Food Safety; Fruit Processing
and sustainable Land Use (SLU).
The centre has been in use for over 13 years (known as the Archbold Tropical Research Centre from 1989
to 1995) as a research field station. It continues to be used for research and education in
neo-tropical natural systems and Training in environmental/community tourism.
