CONSTITUTION AND BY—LAWS
I — NAME
1. The Association shall be named the “Association of Foresters of Papua New Guinea (Inc.)”
Section II — OBJECTIVES
2. The Association is not formed for profit, and the Association has not,
for any of its objectives, the acquisition of gain by the Association or
any of its individual members.
The objectives of the Association shall be
(a) To further the development of forestry and the interests of the profession of forestry in Papua
New Guinea.
(b) To encourage a wider understanding of the problems of forestry and improve forestry practice in
Papua New Guinea.
(c) To advance the members of the Association in their knowledge of the science and practice of forestry
and to cultivate an esprit de corps within the profession.
(d) To do all such other lawful things as the Association may consider to be incidental or conducive
to the attainment of the above objectives or any of them.
Section III — MEMBERSHIP
3. The membership of the Association shall he divided into five classes, namely: Honorary Members, Members,
Associate Members, Student Members and Affiliate Members.
4. Honorary Members, Members, Associate Members, Student Members and
Affiliate Members shall be entitled to attend all meetings of the Association, to take part in the proceedings
thereof and to receive a copy of any reports and journals issued by the Association, but only
Members who are financial shall have the full rights of voting and holding office. Associate Members
may not hold office but shall have the right of voting on all questions except Amendment of the
Constitution.
