Description
The Sylva Foundation is a charitable trust and a company limited by guarantee. Our passion is promoting
trees and their management, and supporting home-grown timber.
We run several projects under our Science, Education and Forestry programmes. We intend to stay small
as an organisation, embracing innovative approaches in supporting our mission.
Sylva arose from work initiated through the think-tank Forestry Horizons, which was conceived by Sir
Martin Wood and Dr Gabriel Hemery in 2006.
